NATIONAL COACHING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (NCCP)

The Baseball Canada NCCP is designed to provide valuable and accessible resources and training to coaches who are working with children in Community Sport and Introduction to Competition level baseball programs.

To access your online account, go to nccp.baseball.ca and login.

 

WEBSITE EDITING NOTE: It is up to each association to decide on what they make mandatory in their own house league.

COMMUNITY SPORT 7U COACHES

  1. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Sport Online Module - an online resource to help get you started and a place to revisit often while you coach baseball. *Must be completed as a pre-requisite before registering for other clinics.  

  2. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) also needs to be completed before registering for other clinics.   

  3. (Recommended) Coach Initiation in Baseball (Rally Cap) Online Module - an online resource made specifically for coaches in the Rally Cap division to introduce the Rally Cap program and format. *Coach Initiation in Baseball (Rally Cap) is not required for coaching certification for Provincials as there are no championships in the Rally Cap division.

COMMUNITY SPORT 9U COACH CLINICS

  1. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Sport Online Module - an online resource to help get you started and a place to revisit often while you coach baseball. *Must be completed as a pre-requisite before registering for other clinics. 

  2. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) also needs to be completed before registering for other clinics.    

  3. (Recommended) Initiation Coach Clinic - an in-class and field/gym clinic that you can attend only after completing the required 11U online modules. The clinic covers the fundamentals of the game and Making Ethical Decisions training.

COMMUNITY SPORT 11U-18U COACH CLINICS

  1. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Sport Online Module - an online resource to help get you started and a place to revisit often while you coach baseball. *Must be completed as a pre-requisite before registering for other clinics.

  2. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) Online Module - an online resource for skills, drills, and many other activities to introduce the basic fundamentals of baseball. *Must be completed as a pre-requisite before registering for other clinics.

  3. (Mandatory) Respect in Sport or Safe Sport Online Module.

In order to appear on an 'A' level provincial roster, head coaches will need to complete Safe Sport training.  Assistant coaches have the choice of Safe Sport or Respect in Sport

  1. COMPETITION 11U COACH CLINICS 

    All 11U AA Head Coaches

    1. (Mandatory) Safe Sport Online Module.

    2. (Mandatory) - Head Coaches only - Emergency Action Plan training found in "The Locker" (https://thelocker.coach.ca/onlinelearning#EAP-E.)

    3. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Sport Online Module - an online resource to help get you started and a place to revisit often while you coach baseball. *Must be completed as a prerequisite before registering for other clinics.

    4. (Mandatory) Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) also needs to be completed before registering for other clinics.

    5. (Mandatory) Initiation Coach Clinic - an in-class and field/gym clinic that covers the fundamentals of the game and Making Ethical Decisions training

    6. (Mandatory) Absolutes Clinic - an in-class and field/gym clinic that covers the minimum standards for skill development that coaches must teach players at the age group in which they are playing and mental training.

    7. (Mandatory) My First Pitch Online Module - an online resource to introduce coaches to the basic mechanics of pitching. The online module includes many skills and drills to develop pitching skills at a young age and reduce arm injuries.

    8. (Mandatory) 11U Online Video Package - Coaches will watch a series of videos with drills and instructional videos for coaching tips, skill development, and practice planning

    9. (Mandatory) 13U Online Video Package - Coaches will watch a series of videos with drills and instructional videos for coaching tips, skill development, and practice planning.
